Collection: Sonal Varshneya

Taj Mahal to contemporary printmaking is indeed a far cry. Yet there is a lot in common, observes Sonal Varshneya . Extremely intricate inlay work of semiprecious stones on the marble walls of the seven wonders of  the world simulates as an enlarged version of engraved lines on copper plate by a master etcher. The precision of an inlayer always fascinated young Sonal . As a child, she would touch and feel with her little fingers the colored stones in contrast with the white surface of marble to make sure it is not painted.
