Collection: Aditi Raman

Aditi Raman (born 1990) is a dynamic contemporary artist from Bihar, who completed her postgraduation from Kala Bhavana, Santiniketan in 2015. Currently pursuing her Ph.D. at Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, she continues to evolve her artistic practice. Blending textile art with fine art techniques, Aditi explores drawing, painting, appliqué, and embroidery. Her work poignantly narrates women’s stories, delving into their socio-political realities while reflecting on emotional healing and memory. Viewing embroidery as a meditative act, she believes each thread carries personal and collective histories, weaving narratives that explore identity, resilience, and the intimate experiences of women.

In this evocative painting, titled "Aditi", the artist captures the essence of a woman whose presence radiates both strength and serenity. The piece, painted with a careful selection of rich, earthy tones and delicate brushwork, seeks to explore the multifaceted nature of feminine identity. Aditi, the ancient name signifying the "mother of all gods" in Hindu mythology, is portrayed as a symbol of nurturing power and cosmic energy.
