Umesh Kumar, born on 1969, is a distinguished artist specializing in photographic painting. He holds a B.F.A. from Patna Art College, completing his degree in 1992. Initially, Umesh was deeply engaged with watercolor painting, later expanding his practice to include acrylic and oil colors from 1996. In 2018, he revisited watercolor painting and continues to explore it today. His artistic themes primarily focus on water pollution and the impact of life on the environment, often addressing contemporary issues. Umesh has created installations, such as those using mineral water piles, and has explored the disappearance of sparrows and pigeons in urban landscapes. He has received various awards, including the Garhi Scholarship (1995) and Senior Fellowship from the Ministry of Culture. His work has been exhibited nationally, contributing significantly to the art world.
