Collection: Abhishek Joshi, Rajjasthan

Born in 1975 in Shahpura, Rajasthan, Abhishek Joshi hails from the legendary Shahpura Joshi family—custodians of the 10th-century Phad painting tradition. A devoted preserver and innovator, Joshi bridges heritage and modernity through his vibrant visual storytelling. His monumental work “The Glorious History of Mewar State” (56x5 ft), hand-painted using natural pigments, has earned recognition in over fifteen record books, including the Limca and America Book of Records. A graduate of MDS University, Ajmer, he continues to reinterpret Phad as a living art form rooted in myth, music, and folklore. His works, housed in the City Palace Museum, Udaipur, and the National Crafts Museum, New Delhi, affirm his vision—preserving India’s cultural essence while resonating powerfully in the contemporary world.
