Collection: Nishant Rana

Born in 1999 in Chamba, Himachal Pradesh, Nishant Rana is an emerging artist dedicated to preserving and revitalizing the rich legacy of Pahari miniature painting. Encouraged by his father, he began his formal training under the mentorship of the renowned artist Vijay Sharma, one of India’s foremost masters of the Pahari tradition. For the past eight years, Nishat has honed his practice with exceptional discipline and devotion, mastering the Kangra and Basohli styles—two of the most refined schools of this heritage art form.

Nishant’s works often draw inspiration from the Ritikal period of Hindi poetry, celebrating the lyrical romance between Radha and Krishna. His paintings radiate emotional tenderness, spiritual beauty, and poetic intimacy. Executed on handmade paper using natural mineral pigments, his works reflect not only technical precision but also the meditative patience inherent in traditional miniature art. Through his brush, Nishant seeks to keep alive the timeless grace of the Pahari aesthetic in the modern era.
