Collection: Ratendra Kumar Vishwakarma

Born in 1994 in Mau, Uttar Pradesh, Ratendra Kumar Vishwakarma is an emerging ceramic and pottery artist whose practice reflects a deep engagement with form, texture, and the earthy essence of clay. A graduate and postgraduate in Pottery and Ceramics from the Faculty of Visual Arts, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, Ratendra’s artistic journey is rooted in both traditional craftsmanship and contemporary sensibility. His works embody a meditative process—balancing utility with aesthetic expression—where organic shapes and subtle glazes reveal his sensitivity toward material and form.

Drawing inspiration from nature and everyday life, his ceramics often explore the relationship between the tactile and the spiritual. The surfaces of his works carry quiet narratives of patience and transformation, echoing the timeless rhythm of the potter’s wheel. A recipient of the National Scholarship (HRD) in 2017, Ratendra has exhibited his works in group shows and workshops across India. His artistic vision continues to evolve through his thoughtful experimentation with clay, texture, and natural hues.
