Born on 1984, Bihar, Premlata Kumari is a distinguished Mithila (Madhubani) artist with over 25 years of dedicated practice in both traditional and contemporary styles. A graduate in Fine Arts from Delhi University, she has devoted her life to preserving and reinterpreting the rich visual heritage of Mithila painting. For the past eight years, she has been conducting online classes, mentoring more than a hundred students across India and abroad.

In 2018, she was honored with the National Merit Certificate in Mithila Painting for her acclaimed series “From Krishna to Jagannath: The Divine Transformation.” This narrative cycle beautifully illustrates the spiritual journey from Lord Krishna’s mortal departure to his rebirth as Lord Jagannath, symbolizing the eternal cycle of divinity and devotion.

Through her work, Premlata Kumari continues to celebrate cultural memory, feminine creativity, and mythological storytelling, blending vibrant tradition with contemporary vision.
