Collection: Swati

Born on 1987 in Patna, Bihar, Swati is a contemporary artist whose creative practice bridges India’s traditional art forms with modern design sensibilities. A graduate in Design from Apeejay Institute of Design, her work draws upon centuries-old traditions such as Madhubani painting and Mandala art, infusing them with a renewed contemporary language.

Since 2000, she has devoted herself to the intricate and meditative world of Mandala art, later expanding her exploration to include Madhubani’s storytelling aesthetics. Her art adapts seamlessly across paper, canvas, walls, textiles, ceramics, and wooden surfaces, integrating fine liner precision, fluid watercolours, and rich acrylic textures.

Founder of Traditional Canvas by Swati, she continues to promote Indian traditional art through modern interpretations. Recipient of the Manniye Ulekh Award (2023–24) for Mandala Art at the Daksh Desh Rajya Shilpya Samman, her practice celebrates India’s visual heritage as a living, evolving tradition.

For Swati, art is both meditation and expression—a means to create harmony, balance, and spiritual connection while keeping alive the timeless rhythm of Indian cultural identity.
