Collection: Rivya Bakutra

Born in 1999 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, Rivya Bakutra is a perceptive figurative painter whose works embody a deep psychological and social inquiry. A graduate of the Government Institute of Fine Arts, Indore (BFA, 2022) and currently pursuing her MFA in Painting (2025), Rivya’s practice reflects a compelling balance between observation and emotion.

Her paintings explore the human psyche through expressive figuration, often confronting the viewer with layers of vulnerability, introspection, and the silent tensions of everyday existence. Rooted in lived experience, her visual language transforms personal reflection into universal dialogue—addressing issues of identity, empathy, and social consciousness.

Rivya’s approach to art transcends aesthetic representation; it functions as a form of social reflection and emotional release. She has participated in several prestigious exhibitions such as “Pink Iron” at AIFACS, New Delhi (2024–25), “Saptak” at MSU Baroda (2024), and “Confluence” at Alliance Française, Bhopal (2024). Recipient of the Gold Medal at Kathmandu Fiesta (2019) and the Shri Hari Bhatnagar Kala Ityadi Sammaan (2023), Rivya continues to shape her artistic vision through observation, empathy, and engagement with the human condition.
