Born and brought-up in Kumaun Hills in Nainital in 1928.
In the year 1946, after completion of school education was enrolled as a student of Fine Arts at Government School of Art and Craft Lucknow. Five years of rigorous training in drawing and painting in various mediums under the guidance of some of the renowned artists and teachers that time has passed out to serve the society as an artist in the year 1952.

After the graduation from Lucknow School of Arts, had worked as a School Art Teacher in the private school at the native hometown for a short duration and then shifted to Lucknow which is one of the centers of cultural and creative art field to work as a freelancer. In 1956 Lucknow School of Arts and Craft offered me to serve the school as a teacher but have resigned from there in 1958.
