Collection: Priyanka Verma

Lucknow-based textile artist, Priyanka Verma whose practice interlaces tradition, nature, and contemporary expression through the language of threads. A graduate in Fine Arts from the College of Arts and Crafts, Lucknow, and a postgraduate in Textile Design from Banaras Hindu University, she has also qualified the UGC-NET in Visual Arts. Recipient of the Young Artist Scholarship (2019) from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, she has been actively engaging with textile art for over a decade, participating in numerous exhibitions, workshops, and art events.

Her artistic journey reflects a deep reverence for material and memory. Through tapestry, weaving, embroidery, and dyeing, she explores the dialogues between nature and culture, continuity and disruption. In her work, the thread becomes a metaphor for the river—flowing, intertwining, and sometimes fractured—symbolizing both harmony and imbalance in contemporary life. By reinterpreting traditional textile practices within modern contexts, Priyanka’s art invites viewers to experience the tactile, emotional, and ecological dimensions of fabric as a living, breathing language.
