Born in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, Sandhya Yadav is a painter whose artistic practice bridges emotion, memory, and material sensitivity. A graduate of C.S.J.M. University, Kanpur (BFA, 2019) and Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya, Khairagarh (MFA, 2022), Sandhya’s work reveals a delicate balance between the tangible and the poetic. Through her layered compositions, she often explores themes of womanhood, inner resilience, and the silent strength of everyday life.

Her visual language employs soft tonal transitions and symbolic imagery, evoking a meditative calm that resonates beyond form. Rooted in personal observation yet universal in spirit, Sandhya’s paintings invite reflection on identity and emotional space.

Recipient of the Garhi Scholarship (Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi, 2024) and the 2nd State Art Exhibition Award (Bihar Lalit Kala Akademi, 2025), Sandhya has participated in several significant exhibitions including the 64th National Exhibition of Art (LKA, New Delhi, 2025) and ArtScape: Women’s Art Exhibition (Chandigarh, 2025). She continues to live and work in Kanpur, developing her distinct voice within the contemporary Indian art landscape.
