Collection: Sunil Kumar

Born on 1984, working from Bihar, Sunil Kumar is a visual artist whose work explores memory, emotion, and the quiet poetry of everyday spaces. Working in acrylic, oil, and mixed media, he merges abstraction with figuration, often using human forms—defined by bold lines and compact compositions—to convey layered narratives of lived experience.

A graduate of Banaras Hindu University (B.F.A., Painting, 2006) and Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh (M.F.A., 2017), Sunil’s artistic journey began with an early fascination for traditional and regional art practices. He also trained in the Technique of Pahari Painting at Jnana-Pravaha, Varanasi (2006), which continues to inform his sensitivity toward line, color, and detail.

His works have been featured in numerous exhibitions, including the 10th All India Exhibition, State Lalit Kala Akademi, Lucknow (2004 & 2009), National Art Fair, Allahabad (2006), and recent group shows such as Visual Confluence (Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath, Bengaluru, 2025), Art Beyond Classrooms (Patna, 2025), and Whispers of Imagination (ICCR, Patna, 2025).

Through layered mark-making and intuitive compositions, Sunil Kumar’s art becomes a dialogue between memory, perception, and imagination.
