Dr. Awadhesh Misra Born on 1970, Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh,

Dr. Awadhesh Misra is a contemporary painter, art scholar, and educator whose practice bridges traditional Indian aesthetics and modern visual idioms. He holds a D.Litt. from I.K.S. University, Khairagarh (2016), Ph.D. from MJP Rohilkhand University (2007), and MFA from Banaras Hindu University (1997). His works explore human consciousness, socio-cultural identity, and spiritual transformation through expressive abstraction and symbolic forms.

A recipient of numerous honors, including the Bharat Gaurav Ratna Award (2024) and National Award from Nine Fish & Dot Line Space Art Gallery, Mumbai (2021), Dr. Misra has held 19 solo shows and participated in major national and international exhibitions across India, Korea, Italy, and the UK. 

Author of books like Samvedana aur Kala and founder editor of Kala Dirgha – International Journal of Visual Arts, he continues to inspire emerging artists through his scholarship, writings, and active engagement in art education and cultural dialogue.
