Mrs. Juli Jha, Born and based in Jitwarpur, Madhubani, Bihar,

Mrs. Juli Jha is a renowned Mithila (Madhubani) painting artist who continues the rich artistic heritage of the Mithila region. She received formal training in Mithila painting from the Mithila Chitrakala Sansthan, Saurath, recognized by Aryabhatta Gyan Vishwavidyalaya, Patna, and holds a Master’s degree in Arts from Lalit Narayan Mithila University, Darbhanga.

An expert in both the “Kachni” (line work) and “Bharni” (color fill) styles, Juli Jha’s works beautifully depict rural life, nature, and spiritual themes. Her art adorns walls, fabrics, and handmade papers, blending tradition with contemporary expression.

She received the Golden Book of Records Award (2017) from Indian Railways for her artwork at the Madhubani Railway Station, the Madhubani Literature Festival Award (2017), and the Daksha Desaj Rajya Shilp Samman (2019). Juli Jha has exhibited her works both online and offline across India and currently runs her art school, “Kalakari,” in Jitwarpur for over 15 years, training young artists and promoting Mithila art globally.
