Collection: Rabi Narayan Gupta

Born on 1975, Sambalpur, Odish, Dr. Rabi Narayan Gupta is an accomplished Indian printmaker whose works explore the intersections of imagination, human emotion, and spiritual reflection. He holds a Ph.D. in Fine Arts from Bundelkhand University, Jhansi (2009) for his research on printmaking traditions at Bharat Bhavan, and earned his BFA and MFA in Graphics (Etching) from Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya, Khairagarh.

Working across lithography, serigraphy, relief, and collagraphy, Gupta’s prints reveal layered narratives where ancient symbols meet modern consciousness. Motifs like flowers, bells, birds, and helmets emerge as metaphors of memory, protection, and transformation. His compositions often depict human forms as metaphoric “actors,” reflecting the tension between the material and spiritual, the real and the imagined.

He has held solo exhibitions at Art Heritage Gallery, New Delhi, and the Government Museum, Jhansi, with numerous group participations across India and abroad.
