Jyoti Ranjan Sahoo, is a contemporary artist deeply rooted in the traditional art form of Pattachitra painting. His artistic journey began in childhood, inspired by the colors, motifs, and mythological imagery of Odisha’s cultural landscape. He formally trained in Pattachitra, an ancient art tradition of intricate line work and storytelling, which continues to be the foundation of his creative practice.

Jyoti holds a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from Dhauli College of Arts & Crafts and a Master’s degree from Utkal University of Culture, Odisha. His works reinterpret traditional deities like Radha-Krishna and Hanuman through a modern visual language that blends meticulous detailing with bold colors and graphic compositions.

Beyond painting, Jyoti works as a craft designer in the handicraft sector, where he integrates traditional aesthetics with contemporary design sensibilities. Through his art, he strives to preserve the rich cultural heritage of Odisha while presenting it with a fresh, vibrant, and modern perspective.
