Collection: Manoj Sharma, Maharashtra

Born on 1975 in Varanasi, Manoj Sharma is a distinguished ceramic artist based in Pune. A Gold Medalist from the Faculty of Visual Arts, Banaras Hindu University, he completed his BFA (1998) and MFA (2000) in Pottery and Ceramics, earning top honors for his academic and creative excellence.

Sharma’s artistic philosophy centers on reconnecting humans with nature through clay — the earth’s most primal medium. His recent series reflects on the theme “Trees are Nature’s Boon,” where the textured surfaces of his ceramics echo the tactile poetry of bark, growth, and regeneration. Through these forms, he builds a bridge between human emotion and ecological consciousness, urging viewers to “listen” to what nature conveys through silence.

He has exhibited widely in major galleries including Jehangir Art Gallery (Mumbai) and Art2Day (Pune), and participated in numerous art camps and residencies across India. Presently, Sharma continues his explorations in crystalline glazes and sculptural ceramics, working independently from his Pune studio.
